The Succulent Extravaganza 2014 is Right Around the Corner!

Less than two weeks away is one of my favorite times of the year!   Yes indeed folks it is time for the 4th Annual Succulent Extravaganza at Succulent Gardens Nursery.  If you click on the link you will get all the juicy details.  And it's FREE!  It's being held on September 26th and 27th.  The address is 2133 Elkhorn, Castroville, CA.  Get ready for food, speakers, demonstrations and beautiful succulents!

I love the front of the nursery!

Agave Blue Wave.  They are so photogenic!

This year the theme is Succulents: The Landscape IS Changing. 2014’s event will focus on succulent landscaping. How to design, build, and maintain succulent landscapes that look beautiful. With the climate changing to dry, dry, dry we need to stretch our water resources. And since succulents are water wise it may well be the answer to the question, “How are we going to have beautiful gardens and use the least water possible?”

Kathy Brenzel, the Garden Editor for Sunset Magazine will be the keynote presenter this year. She will discuss the changing landscape in California. Artist, photojournalist and speaker Debra Lee Baldwin will be presenting both days. Brian Kemble curator of the Ruth Bancroft Garden will give tours of the beautiful gardens at the nursery.

Robin is having many new landscape areas installed before the Extravaganza. Many will feature succulents along with non succulent companion plants. Some of the gardens will be installed during the event. They will be interactive and focused on answering questions about landscaping and gardening with succulent plants.

And let's not forget the retail area!  So much to see and buy!  Woohoo!

I'd love to come home with one of these this year!

Lot's of plants and beautiful pots!

There are three greenhouses packed with beautiful stuff!

Don't forget in the afternoon to head over to the rows of Agave Blue Glow and Blue Wave.  You can get a cool photo like this with the sun shining through the edges.

Don't forget they have shopping outside the greenhouses too.

Wander around the grounds, you never know what you might find.

So hope to see you in Castroville at Succulent Gardens on the 26th and 27th of this month.  By the way the 26th is my birthday so what a treat for me on my special day.  Make sure you click here to get information and schedule for this FREE event!

Hope to see you there!!!!

It's Another Beautiful Day!

Read in our local paper this morning that Robin Stockwell sold Succulent Gardens! Sold to a family that has been in horticulture.

Love your blog!
