Succulent Extravaganza 2013.....Be There!

So first of all I would like to announce the winner of my Lolita Pot giveaway!  It's Erin Thompson.!  Don't know where she is located yet but I sent her an email.  How exciting will she be!  Woot woot!  Thank you everyone for commenting and trying to win.  I do appreciate the response and I will have to think of something else fun like that .

Over the last couple of years I have posted on a spectacular event that started in 2011 called The Succulent Extravaganza.  It's that time of year again and you guessed it, the 3rd annual  fabuloso event is coming up fast!  September 27th and 28th (Friday and Saturday) you will find me and about 2,000 people a day at Succulent Gardens in Castroville, CA  Please click on this link which will take you to more information and register to join!  It will also give you another link with bios on each of the presenters.  And you won't believe it but I am one!  I am giving photo walks to small groups on both days.  I am honored and excited, it should be great fun!

If you would like the pdf of the above please click here.  You can print it and bring it along.

This year's theme is Passion but creativity is the focus!  And Robin Stockwell (owner of Succulent Gardens) has a lineup of speakers and activities that will make you giddy with joy.  Some very special and passionate people are either speaking or giving tours.  You don't want to miss it!  Make sure that you register for the event and join in on the free BBQ on Friday evening at 5:00 pm.  Lots of yummy food and great company.

Close up Vertical planting at SG

This is a shot I took of part of a beautiful succulent building at the 2011 Succulent Extravaganza!

Make sure that you check out Gerhard Bock's post on the event.  We both have attended the first two I believe and he has some fantastic posts and photos of the beautiful succulents.  He is a member of the Succulent Fanatics.   The head of our group will be giving a presentation on accessorizing with succulents.  There will also be a table where all the Succulent Fanatics can show off their creations.  We also have a couple of meet up times so we can get together and yak!

Here is the schedule of speakers and activities for both days!

Event Schedule for 2013 Succulent Extravaganza
Make sure you bring cash or check as they don't accept credit.  And if you love succulents like I do you will want to take many of the beautiful plants home.  Oh and bring a wagon or cart.  The greenhouses are very big and you won't want to carry your purchases all over the place.  They will have a holding area so your plants stay safe while you attend the seminars.

They have many varieties of Aeoniums for sale and also planted around the gardens!

Retail area at SG

This is just a small section of the retail area!  So much to see and purchase.  And I believe that this year they will have a potting area so you can pot up your beautiful plants and have them all ready to place in a special spot at home.

Living wreaths at SG

It's the time of year for succulent wreaths.  They will have some beautiful ones for you to take home and hang on your door or wherever you want!

Echeveria secunda

The grounds at Succulent Gardens are so beautiful.  And some changes have been made.  I can't wait to take people around and show them how to take some Sweet shots!

Agave 'Blue Glow'

Backlit Agave 'Blue glow' is a great subject for your camera.  And there are rows of them with Agave 'Blue Wave' in the back to compliment.  I love this place!

Aloe noblis 'Gold Toothed Aloe'

Aloe noblis 'Gold Toothed aloe' with Aloe polyphylla behind.

So gather up all your spare change and hitch up your wagon and come and join us if you can for this wonderful two day event.  I have listed links below to my past posts on this event so you can check them out!

Hope to see you there.  And remember:

It's Another Beautiful Day!
