Happy Pink Cactus Monday

This is the fruit that comes after the flower has been pollinated. This type of cactus is called Optunia engelmannii var. subarmata. It has huge pads and grows very slow. The flowers are beautiful yellow. Most people like to call this type of cactus "Prickly Pears".

These fruit always remind me of Christmas bulbs on a tree. I love this close-up.

Hi ya'll! I know how that can be Julie. No grandkids yet but I remember how busy my two boys made me. I think I'm still tired!

Teri thanks but you don't want to try to pick them up with bare hands. Those cute little dots are tons of tiny stickers! Ouch!

What a perfect fruit! Seems the birds get pecking into mine before they turn such a perfect red. HCM!

Hi Candy,
Thanks for your visit. I love your cactus pictures! I think I have already said that. The blooms are beautiful. Oh, regarding that book. She had several more. I wanted them all.
