Hello again! It's Autumn.

Hi again Everyone!
It's been a long time since I posted because I forgot I had started this. Silly me! But over the summer my succulents have gone wild. Me too! Lol. I planted and planted and planted. My husband dug out a new bed in the front of the house for me so in the spring I will have a whole new area to play in! Yeah, I am so excited about this. My backyard was actually running out of room. Yes, hard to believe.

I finished planting my planter in the front yard on the side of the house. Here is a shot of part of it. I am really proud of it. Since this shot was taken about a month ago it has already started to grow and grow. Can't wait for spring for it to really take off. Just hope the frost does not get anything.

Also my camera (Canon G7) has been going on the blink. So had to buy a new one. I am graduating to a SLR. I got a Canon EOS Rebel XSI/XS. Can't wait to get started using it. I am reading SLR for dummy's and have to read the manual also. But it was in my price range and felt really good in my hand. Easier to hold than a point and shoot. So get ready for some even better pictures to come.
I really love Echeveria's. Some of you know them as Hens and Chicks. There are so many kind of them you wouldn't believe it. They are all so beautiful. I have dedicated a whole set on flicker to them. You should take a look. I have not posted all of them and of course I don't have everyone but I think they are my favorite succulent. Here is the link to my flickr Echeveria set.

Well that's about enough for now. I hope you all are having a wonderful time this autumn looking at all the beautiful colors. Till next time, Enjoy!

My first post and my new journey!

This is my first blog and my 1st post. Pretty exciting. I'm sure I'll get better as I go along.

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Candice Suter. I turned 50 in 2008. Not really too bad, no really. I don't feel any different than when I turned 40. I am married to a wonderful man, Stan. We had our 25th wedding anniversary in 2008. So obviously 2008 was a really great year. We live in Roseville, CA. We have lived in our 2 story house for about 14 years now. And it wasn't until we painted the inside 5 different colors with a texmex theme and I started cultivating succulents that I loved my house. It is awesome. People at first thought we were crazy until they saw it.

I absolutely love succulents. They are now my passion. I have not counted recently but at last count I had about 200 different varieties. And some of them I have more than one. I can't get enough. I just love the prickly and non prickly. Everyday I learn something new about them. Right now I am posting pictures of them on Flickr under Sweetstuff Designs. I love the comments that I get and meeting other succulent lovers from around the world. These contacts help in naming them also. This is a project that I have started because I would like every succulent to have a label. See above a sample of my backyard collection.
